First part of the workshop focus: Standing Poses, come and spend the afternoon learning details of all the standing poses. You will learn the correct actions of each pose, what part of the body each pose is for, how each pose works energetically and how to use props so each pose is available to all level of the practitioner. You will leave with an understanding of why some poses should come before or after one another to enhance their effect.
Second part of the workshop focus: Asana practice putting to use what we learned in the first part focusing on the standing poses with an Iyengar approach.
$85 with advance registration, $100 day of workshop
Sunday, July 26th
1:00 pm—6 pm
Third part of the workshop focus: Leslie will deconstruct the back bending poses and upside down poses in part three. Are you mystified by handstands, forearm stands and headstands? Are you afraid of going upside down? Do you experience discomfort in backward bending postures or have difficulty rising into wheel pose? Do you know what wheel pose is? Come and find out why and take your yoga practice to a new level.
Fourth part of the workshop focus: Putting our new intellectual knowledge into our bodies. Preparatory exercises for these poses will lead you into inverting and backward bending with ease. Students will receive individual attention and suggestions for future practice and development in these poses. Variations will also be offered for more advances practitioners. Come and achieve something you never thought possible. All levels are welcome. This workshop is not appropriate for menstruating women.

Leslie Howard holds a 320-hour Advanced Studies Certificate from Rodney Yee, a 300-hour teacher training Certificate with Tony Briggs, and a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Certification. Leslie has been practicing for over fifteen years in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, including twelve years of teaching, workshops, and annual yoga retreats. Previous international retreats have included Egypt, Hawaii, Mexico and Italy. She is currently studying under Manouso and Ramanand Patel, both of whom hold some of the highest level Certificates in the system of Iyengar Yoga. Leslie credits Susanne Kammerer (a gifted Physical Therapist from Germany), for deepening her knowledge of the Pelvic Floor.

Bring an easy lunch, water, yoga mat and a beach towel. Mats are available for purchase at the studio.
We'll take a moderate hike, do some yoga at our destination. Enjoy beautiful views, Breathe Fresh air ...Aaaahhhh!
Keep in mind that we will be hiking! This means we will travel on foot over uneven terrain and you may be hiking up and down hills. Expect to sweat a little.
Contact us before the day of hike, let us know your coming and how many people will be hiking with you so we can plan accordingly. Meet at PBY 8:30am for a 9:00am departure. We return about 3:30-5:30pm depending on destination.
